Jérôme Graille picked up the guitar at 13 and later discovered the cigar box guitar thanks to Seasick Steve, instantly drawn to its raw and soulful sound. Since then, he has become a key figure in the CBG community, sharing rock and blues covers, tutorials, and lessons on YouTube. In 2020, he launched the Cigar Box Guitar Club, a dedicated space offering exclusive tutorials, tablatures, and online coaching.
His website, cigarboxguitarmusic.com, is the most comprehensive French-speaking CBG resource out there, with lessons also available in English. If you want to start or improve your playing, his content is a must!
I attended two of Jérôme’s workshops, but it was the first one that truly sparked my passion for the cigar box guitar. If you’re looking for inspiration and solid instruction, I can’t recommend him enough!Jack dans la Boîte – Handmade Cigar Box Guitars
Jack has been a close friend for over 20 years, and he’s the one who first introduced me to the world of cigar box guitars. He even built my very first 3-string CBG, setting me on this incredible journey.
Jack dans la Boîte creates unique, handcrafted Cigar Box Guitars using 80% recycled materials, giving new life to forgotten objects, each with its own story and character.
We often showcase our creations together at local craft markets, festivals, and events, sharing our passion for handmade, upcycled music gear. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind CBG built with heart and craftsmanship, Jack dans la Boîte is the name to remember! Check him out on Instagram and Facebook.

CBG Willy - Hand Built Cigar Box Guitars
Wiel Mulders is the name behind CBG Willy, a luthier based in the south of Limburg, not far from Maastricht, The Netherlands. He builds 3-string cigar box guitars, license plate guitars, and diddley bows, each one handcrafted with attention to detail and a love for reclaimed materials.
Wiel uses original cigar boxes, wood from old furniture, and salvaged guitar parts to give his instruments real character — and he even winds his own guitar pickups by hand, adding a personal touch to the tone of each build.
Available in acoustic or electric versions, his guitars can be made to order, right- or left-handed, fretted or fretless.
On top of his craftsmanship, Wiel is just a genuinely nice guy — friendly, down-to-earth, and always happy to share his passion with others.
